The Emperor's hand rises and lightning crackles across the mountain pass, forcing Luke and Yoda to raise their lightsabres defensively as the bolts rain down relentlessly. Vader advances through the storm with methodical purpose, his respirator hissing like a predator's breath, forcing the Jedi backwards into the jagged rocks.
ROUND 2 OF 4
Yoda attempts a desperate Force push, but Palpatine absorbs the energy with a sickening laugh and redirects it back tenfold, slamming the ancient Master against the cliff face. Luke charges Vader in fury, their blades meeting in a shower of sparks, but the Dark Lord's grip and reach prove overwhelming in the narrow confines.
ROUND 3 OF 4
The Emperor weaves a web of lightning between both Jedi whilst Vader closes in methodically, his black armour reflecting the blue glow of their frantic defence. Luke's muscles burn as he parries attack after attack, unable to mount any meaningful offence whilst protecting the falling Yoda from electrical agony.
ROUND 4 OF 4
Palpatine unleashes a torrent of Force energy that lifts Luke skyward, pressing him against the pass's ceiling, whilst Vader advances on the gasping Yoda with his lightsabre raised high. The Emperor whispers something ancient and terrible, and the very air crackles with malice as the Jedi's hope finally fractures.
» Vader's blade falls like an executioner's axe, and the last Jedi Master crumbles to ash upon the stones.
THE WAR ORACLE'S VERDICT
This matchup hinges on individual Force and combat prowess. Palpatine's mastery of Force lightning and telekinesis, combined with Vader's crushing physical dominance, creates a formidable two-front assault. Yoda, despite centuries of wisdom, is physically diminished by age; Luke, though strong, remains outmatched in raw power and experience against both Vader and the Emperor simultaneously. The narrow mountain pass actually favours the Sith: it prevents Luke and Yoda from exploiting mobility advantages and forces them into a grinding melee where Vader's overwhelming strength and Palpatine's versatile Dark Side powers will progressively break their defence. The Jedi would need to isolate one attacker, but Palpatine's superiority in Force manipulation makes this nearly impossible.
